"Stay in the presence of God."
Kindle the Word (Scripture):
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14
Stoke the Spirit (Reflection):
Sooooooo much happening.
Before peace, there’s pressure.
Before clarity, there’s confusion.
Before healing, there’s the ache.
This is the rhythm of grace:
God doesn’t wait for me to be calm before He draws near.
He meets me in the swirl, in the swing, in the tight grip of emotion.
Fireside Thoughts (Devotional Insight)
I know I’m not alone in this: our emotions can push us, pull us, and sometimes leave us feeling like we’re sliding between strength and surrender.
I have mood swings.
The learning.
The anger.
The making peace with it.
I’ve been tight.
Angry.
Tough on myself.
Pushing. Pressing.
Trying to hold it all together with trembling hands.
But grace whispers:
You don’t have to hold it all.
You’re not the Savior.
You’re the son.
And then it hits me…
I want to hang.
I want to hang!
I want to hang in there.
Not just survive,
but stay.
Stay in the tension.
Stay in the learning.
Stay in the presence of God.
I want to learn to operate from need,
not hide it.
To channel my rules,
not be ruled by them.
To practice what God has said,
not just quote it.
This is the mercy of the morning:
God doesn’t despise my swings.
He steadies me with truth.
He anchors me with love.
He teaches me to live from need,
because need is the doorway to grace.
Embers to Carry (Challenge):
Where in your life right now are you trying to hold it all together with trembling hands? Write it down. Then remind yourself: You’re not the Savior, you’re the son!
Ignite Action (Application):
Choose today to stay. Stay in the tension. Stay in the presence of God. Don’t run from the swirl, meet Him in it.
Gather ’Round (F180 Group Connection):
Share with a brother where you’ve been trying to “hold it all.” Ask him to pray for you, not to escape, but to endure with grace.
Fan the Flames (Prayer):
Lord, I’m not like other men and I thank You for that.
You made me sensitive, intense, and spiritually alive.
Help me hang in there when I feel like letting go.
Teach me to operate from need, not shame.
Let Your sayings become my practice.
Let Your presence be my anchor.
Amen.
Keep It Burning (Memory Verse):
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
